St. Francis Catholic School is again preparing for its Harvest Ball Fundraiser.
This annual event is organized by the St. Francis Home and School Association, and is the school's biggest fundraiser of the year.
The theme this year "For it is in Giving, that we Receive" is a quote from St. Francis of Assisi. The school was renamed after the saint this year, due to the new building project. The theme was chosen in thanksgiving for the success of the building project.
The Harvest Ball will take place on Nov. 2 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Social hour and silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the live auction and dance. Raffle tickets are also being sold by students and families. The first prize is an Xbox One, and the second prize is a Roomba robotic vacuum. Raffle tickets are $10 per ticket or six tickets for $50. Auction items this year include a trip to the Ozarks, wine tasting party, sports tickets, beef and pork bundles and much more.
Marshall County Pork Producers have provided the Iowa chops for the dinner which will be prepared by Eric Boone. The children have made special art projects for sale, and each grade has made a yard ornament that will be auctioned off.
All proceeds from the fundraiser are used for updating curriculum, technology support, and other educational needs that arise. The public is invited to attend this fundraising event. Tickets for the event are $70 per couple/$35 per person, and can be purchased prior to the event by calling Michele Dawley at 641-752-3467.
