AMES - The Iowa State women's basketball team used a 25-2 run to end the first half en route to a 78-49 exhibition win over Carthage on Wednesday night inside Hilton Coliseum.
The visiting Lady Reds led 19-14 with 9:47 left in the first half before the Cyclones made their surge. It helped to deliver ISU's 30th consecutive exhibition win.
Hallie Christofferson led Iowa State with a game-high 17 points to go with six rebounds and three blocked shots. Nicole 'Kidd' Blaskowsky added 12 points and Madison Baier tallied 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Baier, a sophomore from South Tama County High School, shot 3-of-8 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in 14 minutes off the bench.
ISU's regular-season opener is at home Sunday at 5 p.m. against North Dakota.
