OTTUMA - Marshalltown Community College sophomore Troidell Carter hit all five of his shots in the first half as the Tigers jumped on Mid Michigan CC from the opening tip and never looked back in an 82-47 victory at the Reed Overhead Door Classic at Indian Hills Community College.

Carter ended up 8-for-8 from the floor and finished with a game-high 18 points, while Guilherme Verado added 13 points and was 4-for-6 from 3-point range.

The Tigers led 41-12 at halftime after shooting 56 percent from the floor and holding Mid Michigan to 30 percent at the other end. The Lakers also hit just 1-of-11 from long range in the first half and went 2-for-21 in the game. MCC (2-1) converted 17 Mid Michigan turnovers into 25 points while also winning the rebounding battle, 39-24.

Carter was the only Tiger starter to score more than four points. Marlon Williams and Giovanni Ellis each put in eight off the bench, while Marquise Cunningham scored seven points as well. The Tiger bench produced 56 of the team's 82 points in the victory.

The starters were 0-for-3 from long range, while the bench hit 9-of-17 from 3-point range.

Raheim Holloway's five assists were a team-high as the Tigers assisted on 22 of their 33 made buckets. Tyrese Hoxter had a team-high five rebounds, while Cunningham and Kenny Strong both added four. Ellis also recorded four steals. Thirteen Tigers reached the scoring column in the easy win as well.

The Tigers will make a trip to Iowa Western Community College to take part in the Hampton Inn-Holiday Inn Reiver Classic on Nov. 15-16. MCC will play Missouri State-West Plains on Friday and Labette Community College on Saturday. Both games tip off at 3 p.m.
