Texas man arrested after two assaults
A man faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting two people, damaging a car and public intoxication.
Travis D. Collins, 25 of Bishop Tex., was arrested Thursday after police were dispatched to the backyard of a house on the 100 block of N. 12th Ave. at 1:15 a.m. for a disturbance.
According to police, Collins came back to the house with a few people he met at a local bar and got in an argument with one of the guys in the group, accusing him of stealing his wallet.
The argument led Collins to allegedly kicking the door of the car that belonged to one of the girls with them and punching the guy in the face who he thought stole his wallet. While the two men were fighting, the girl tried to break it up. As she was trying, Collins allegedly pushed her to the ground.
Collins had an injury on the back of his head and was taken to the hospital. After he was treated he was arrested and charged with serious assault, a serious misdemeanor, simple assault, criminal mischief, and public intoxication, simple misdemeanors.

Joel and Jenny Goodman, of Liscomb, are the parents of a son, Logan David Goodman, born at 11:54 a.m. on Oct. 28 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Grandparents are Ray and Judy Clark, of Union, and Mark and Sandy Goodman, of Liscomb.
Laura Herrald and Chad Lytle, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a daughter, Charlie Carolynn Lytle, born at 11:16 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Grandparents are: Carol Herrald and the late Gerald Dean Herrald, of Marshalltown, and Dick and Susan Lytle, of Holiday Island, Ark.
Grundy County Sheriff's Office
On Nov. 2, Thomas Sawyer, age 60, of Grundy Center, was arrested on a Buchanan County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was released to Buchanan County authorities.
On Oct. 30, Aron Fox, age 33, of Wellsburg, was arrested at 165th Street and T-19 and charged with operating while intoxicated-third offense and driving while license is revoked. Fox is being held in lieu of bond.
On Oct. 27, Thomas Schutte, age 20, of Reinbeck, was arrested at the Sheriff's Office and charged with burglary-third degree. He is being held in lieu of bond. While in custody, he was also charged with forgery.
On Nov. 8, a car driven by Sharon Huck, age 54, of Waverly, was westbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Huck car was estimated at $4,000.
On Oct. 31, a car driven by Clark Moritz, age 65, of Waterloo, was eastbound on 240th Street west of Grundy Center when it struck a deer that entered the road. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Moritz car was estimated at $2,000.
On Oct. 31, a vehicle driven by Matthew Gebel, age 44, of Gladbrook, was southbound on K Avenue when a deer entered that roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gebel vehicle was estimated at $1,500.
On Oct. 27, a car driven by Jeremy Kurth age 19, of Ackley, was westbound on 120th Street east of Q Avenue when struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kurth car was estimated at $3,000.
On Oct. 26, a semi driven by Shannon Hardman, age 35, of Ackley, was westbound on the gravel when the driver reached for something in the cab, dropped off the left shoulder and entered the ditch where it rolled onto its side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hardman semi was estimated at $1,500.
On Oct. 25, a vehicle driven by Cristina Kentopp, age 33, of Reinbeck, was eastbound on Highway 175 east of Q Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kentopp vehicle was estimated at $3,500.
On Oct. 24, a car driven by Jessie Seeman, age 21, of Rippey, was westbound on Highway 20 when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Seeman car was estimated at $1,500.
