Marella M. Hoy, 86, of Marshalltown, IA passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Iowa River Hospice Home, in Marshalltown with her family at her side. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 9, 2013, at Bethel Grove Church, in rural Liscomb. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2013, at the Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Interment will be at Bethel Grove cemetery. Marella was born February 19, 1927 to Mac R. and Zepha I. (Allen) Shearer, in Albion, IA. She was educated in the Union, IA schools and graduated from MHS High School in Fannettsburg, PA. She was united in marriage to Keith Hoy on September 5, 1948 at First Baptist Church in Marshalltown. He died February 12, 1991. She was employed with Marshall Printing for 18 years as a Binder. She was a member of Bethel Grove Church. Marella truly loved the outdoors.
Marella will be missed by five children; Sharon (Floyd) Pratt of Marshalltown, Diana Hulin of LeGrand, IA, Keith "Rick" (Nancy) Hoy II of Union, Darlene (Edward) Gillilland of Marshalltown, Barry (Denise) Hoy of Conrad, IA, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded by her husband, one great grandchild, Jacob, three brothers, John, Allen, Harry, and a son-in-law, Dennis Hulin.
