Mike Tupper, Marshalltown Police Chief, Luis Meza of JBS, Major Ben Stillwell of the Salvation Army and Troy Mulgrew, of JBS, meet to pick up 300 pork roasts donated from JBS to the Salvation Army for the holiday baskets.
“They’re building on a rich tradition,” Stillwell said. “Everybody at the Army that goes back decades, talks about how this particular plant in Marshalltown has consistently given above and beyond in helping out the less fortunate around the holiday season. It’s unbelievable in a very positive way.”
The holiday baskets will go to families in Marshall county.
“We try to take care of this community which has been good to us, we want to be good back,” Mulgrew said. “We want to be good community citizens and do our part and try to help the holidays for over 300 families with this donation.”
