Lynne Carroll, director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, stands next to Val Ruff, the winner of the Harlem Globetrotters bench seat experience from the MAMA DiGRADO’S PASTA & PIZZA and Big Brother Big Sisters raffle.
Tickets for the raffle were sold for $5 and all the money from the raffle went to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“I purchased $20 worth of tickets because I thought it went for a really good cause the Big Brothers Big Sisters and when I found out I won I was like, ‘no way, I never win,’” Ruff said.
Ruff said she will give her bench seat experience to Big Brothers Big Sisters to be placed in a drawing to go to one little.
“I think it’s really important this opportunity should be presented to one of the littles,” Ruff said.
In addition to the bench seat experience, four courtside tickets were raffled off. The courtside ticket winners were Dr. David Thomas, Eric Julson, Patti Hilleman and Todd Eipperle.
The Harlem Globetrotters will perform at 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at Marshalltown High School.
