ST. LOUIS - Despite scoring just eight points against No. 22 Iowa on Saturday, Drake junior guard Kyndal Clark was named Missouri Valley Conference Women's Player of the Week on Monday, according to the league office.
Clark's game against the Hawkeyes was outweighed by the career-high 35 points she scored against SIU-Edwardsville earlier in the week. She also grabbed a season-best eight rebounds and drilled a season-high five 3-pointers in the win.
Clark is averaging 16 points per game, which ranks fourth in the conference. This is her second MVC weekly honor, having previously won it last season on Feb. 25.
Drake is in the midst of a seven-day break but will next play the Milwaukee Panthers in the Knapp Center Sunday.
