IRVING, Texas - Iowa State freshman Jadda Buckley posted back-to-back double-digit scoring games in helping her team win both of its games in the Cyclone Challenge this past weekend.
Monday, Buckley was honored with her second Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors, the league announced. This is the fifth Big 12 weekly honor this season for Iowa State.
Buckley scored 12 and 19 points, respectively, in the Cyclones' wins over Holy Cross and William and Mary. She knocked down a career-high four 3-pointers in the win over Holy Cross and then followed that up by making 5-of-6 from the floor, 3-of-4 from long range and 6-of-6 from the line against William and Mary.
On the weekend, Buckley hit 69 percent of her shots and was 7-of-10 from distance.
The Cyclones went undefeated in the non-conference portion of the season for the third time in school history.
Buckley and No. 14 Iowa State (11-0) will return to the court at 7 p.m. Thursday when they open the Big 12 season on the road against TCU.
