Betty Irene (Goecke) Knoll, passed away December 30, in Phoenix, AZ. She was born September 1, 1930 in Marshalltown, and was the daughter of Albert & Beulah Goecke and the sister of Leona Fiscus and Elmer Goecke. She lived the majority of her life in Marshall County. She graduated from Lamoille High School in 1948 and married Glenn Knoll in 1951. They loved on a farm near St. Anthony until they moved to Marshalltown years later. During her career she worked at the Marshall County Recorders Office, Fidelity Bank, Dunhham-Bush and Lander-Landon. In later years she lived both in Colorado Springs and Phoenix to be near her children. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Elmer Goecke and sister Leona Fiscus. She is survived by a son, Bill Knoll (Mary) of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Linda Slocum (Mike) of Vassar, MI; six grand-children: Nancy Randall, Alyssa Williams, Jaclyn Knoll, Nathan Randall, Jeffrey Knoll, Erin Knoll; and two great-grandchildren: Jazmin Williams, Brianna Williams. A private service was held Thursday, January 2nd, at Carr-Tenney Mortuary in Tempe, AZ. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
