GRUNDY CENTER - Reggie Gradwell made 6-of-7 3-point attempts on his way to a career-high 27 points, and Duncan Ferch eclipsed 1,000 for his career as the West Marshall boys' basketball team topped Grundy Center 67-55 in NICL West Division action Friday night.
Gradwell also went 6-of-6 from the free-throw line and 8-of-13 from the floor overall, helping the Trojans (10-2, 6-1) round out the first half of the conference slate.
Ferch finished with 11 points, moving his career total to 1,008, and added eight rebounds and six assists. Matt Van Metre had 13 points and Elijah Streeter chipped in seven points for the Trojans, who outscored Grundy Center 24-11 in the second quarter to pull away.
Four players scored in double figures for Grundy Center (3-7, 3-3), but the quartet accounted for all but four of the Spartans' points.
Brady Hook led Grundy Center with 15 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot.
Jack Stumberg had 13 points, Austin Burroughs made four 3-pointers for 12 points, and Jordan Stoner contributed 11 points for the Spartans.
West Marshall plays at 11:30 a.m. today against Hudson in the NICL Winter Classic at Wartburg College in Waverly.
