Let’s look for spiritual answers

January 15, 2014
Chuck Elliott, Liscomb , Times-Republican

I read with interest the letter by The Rev. Darrell Mitchell in the Times-Republican Sunday, Jan. 5. I couldn't help but notice there was no mention of the role God plays or could play in these matters.

I am convinced that unless we allow the spirit of God to rule in our hearts through Jesus Christ, there is no chance for peace and justice to rule in this world.

Every human being is born with a disease called sin, which includes lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and the pride of life. The only way to combat this condition is to be born the second time of the spirit of God. This may be hard to understand, so we pray, read the scripture and spend time with Christian believers.

In Jeremiah 29:13 God says, "You shall seek me and find me when you shall search for me with all your heart."
