The Marshall County Republicans Caucus Chairperson, Peter Rogers, announces that the Republican precinct caucuses will be held throughout Marshall County at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Dozens of volunteers have stepped forward in carefully organizing the highly anticipated event. Each precinct will have its own location and leaders will be ready to help the caucus process.
The locations for the caucus are:
Marshalltown wards 1-1,1-2, 2-1,2-2. 3-1, 3-2,4-1, and 4-2, along with LeGrand and Timber Creek Townships will meet in the Marshalltown High School Auditorium 1601 S. Third Ave. Bangor and Liscomb townships will meet at Liscomb Community Center, 114 Main St., Liscomb. Eden and Logan townships will meet at the Melbourne Community Center, 613 Main St., Melbourne. Green Castle Township meets at East Marshall Middle School Gym, 225 S. Elm St. Gilman. Iowa and Taylor townships will meet the Albion Fire Station, 100 S. Main St., Albion. Jefferson Township meets at East Marshall Elementary School, 201 E. Weisenberger, Laurel. Liberty and Minerva townships meet at the Clemons Lutheran School, 302 Bevin St., Clemons. Marietta and Washington townships will meet at Consumers Energy 2074 242nd St., Marshalltown. Marion and Vienna townships will meet at Green Mountain Community Building, 222 Wollston St., Green Mountain. State Center Township will meet at the West Marshall High School Library, 301 Third Street NW, State Center.
The caucuses will begin the process of developing a state party platform. Planks for the platform will be submitted and discussed at the caucus. Also, delegates and alternate delegates to the Republican County Convention will be elected. Election of members of the Marshall County Republican Central Committee will also occur.
