Library to host polar bears, penguins themed storytime

January 25, 2014

Preschoolers with a caregiver are invited to a Polar Bears and Penguins storytime at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 29 at the Marshalltown Public Library.

After stories, children will also have the chance to get their picture taken with a large polar bear stuffed animal from the collection of Andrea Nixon. Many items from Nixon's polar bear collection are on display this month in the glass case in the youth department.

Storytime is geared toward 3-4 year olds, and features stories, songs and fingerplays on a weekly theme (older and younger children who are interested and able to participate in the group experience are welcome). Feel free to talk with Joa or Teresa in the youth department about your child's readiness for storytime. Free play, featuring a dollhouse, giant blocks and Legos is frequently offered following storytime.
