Irving was arrested two days later following an investigation by local authorities.

According to court documents, Irving admitted to authorities and to family members that he strangled her to death.

Hall, 55, was a Marshalltown woman.

During his initial court appearance Irving told a judge he "didn't really men to kill her."

The new trial date is scheduled for June 24.

Irving is being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $1 million cash-only bond. If convicted, Irving faces a life sentence in prison without parole.
