The March 28 Big Shootout basketball tournament was a great success and raised $1,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Game 1 put the Marshalltown Police Department up against the Marshalltown Fire Department. The Police Department was hosed by the Fire Department moving on to play in the finals. Fouls were called by the referees Mike Peschong and Bob Averill with the free throws being shot by the Littles in attendance.
In Game 2 the mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters took on the challenge of the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. They were defeated and the sheriff's office moved on to the championship game.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office won the Big Shootout basketball game March 28 at the Marshalltown High School Roundhouse, which raised $1,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The exciting finals between the fire department and the sheriff's department proved the sheriff's office to be the champions (27-23) of the 3rd Annual Big Shootout.
