Gene Neven introduced Mary Giese who spoke about the Marshall County Arts and Culture Alliance. With a goal of promoting public art in the community they have partnered with the 13th Street District to place a sculpture called "Echo" by Bruce White near the West End Park.
The alliance has applied for a grant that will be used to fund several local projects and Marshalltown will be listed as a "Great Place." Giese said art is for everyone and will be enjoyed by alliance members, affiliates, businesses and supporters.
