A Marshalltown woman was charged with a handful of drug offenses after law enforcement officials found baggies containing crack cocaine in her purse.
Kenisha Bolden, 37, was arrested Thursday at Casey's, 111 N. Third Ave., after the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force executed a search warrant following a month-long investigation.
Sgt. Joel Phillips, with the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force, said while officials were executing a search warrant at 812 W. Linn St., Bolden left the scene in a car. Marshalltown police stopped her at the convenience store and she was detained then searched.
Police found four individually wrapped baggies containing 1.1 grams of crack cocaine in her purse, Phillips said.
At her home the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force found three grams of marijuana, a digital scale and baggies.
"Crack cocaine arrests come and go," Phillips said. "We have been finding more of it. Methamphetamine is the prominent stimulant drug but we are finding more and more of crack cocaine and cocaine."
Bolden is charged with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to deliver, a Class C felony, prohibited acts, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
No additional arrests were expected.
