Former Royal crowned at nationals

The Central Iowa Select 18 Maroon girls’ volleyball team, which includes Colo-NESCO graduate Caitlyn Riese, won the USA Volleyball 2014 18U Girls’ junior national championship recently. Playing in the four-day tournament in Minneapolis, the Maroon won 11 straight matches in winning the National division and finished the season with a 53-16 overall record. Players from this same squad were third in the 17U National division in 2013 and won the American division 16U title in 2012. In three years, the squad’s USA National Tournament record was 31-1.
