Hobby Lobby will occupy the store in Marshall Town Center which has been vacant for more than two years after Menards exited that location.

This vacant former Menards location in Marshall Town Center will be home to a Hobby Lobby store in 2015.
Renovation of the 55,000 square-foot building will begin soon with an expected opening in early summer 2015. This store is expected have 35-50 full- and part-time jobs paying $15 per hour for full-time and $10 per hours for part-time work.
Hobby Lobby currently has 14 stories in Iowa. The nearest Hobby Lobby store to Marshalltown currently is located in Ames.
"I think it fills a niche that has been missing in this community and this retail environment," Huge said. "Hobby Lobby will be great addition to the community. It will provide another option to those into crafting or home decor or sprucing up their space."
Vince Parker, of Hobby Lobby, said they will start taking applications for employment three to four weeks before the opening of the store.
"We feel that we can bring a very unique shopping experience to the area," Parker said. "We are looking forward to becoming part of the community."
