Incidents
• On Thursday, a case of fraud involving the unauthorized use of a credit card was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.
Arrests
• On Friday, Justin Deal, 39, was arrested on a warrant.
• On Thursday, Stanley Fenske, 53, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance-keeping or permitting use in structure or vehicle, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, two counts of a controlled substance violation and on a warrant.
• On Thursday, Cody Tague 26, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-impeding the flow of air or blood causing bodily injury, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness-first offense.
• On Thursday, Leroy Hayes III, 31, was arrested for driving while barred.
• On Thursday, Nathan Buchanan, 43, was arrested on a warrant.
• On Thursday, Ryan Stubbs, 36, was arrested on a warrant from another county.
• On Thursday, Vann Griffith, 57, was arrested for sex offender registration violation-second or subsequent offense.
Accidents
• On Thursday, a car driven by Marlena Lynn Crone, 28, of Tama, was southbound on South 12th Avenue attempting to turn west onto East Anson Street when the car began sliding on the ice and coming to rest after striking the utility pole. No injuries were reported. Crone was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Crone car was estimated at $4,000 while the utility pole received an estimated $500 in damage.
• On Thursday, a semi driven by Daniel Daugherty, 53, of St. Louis, Mo., was backing in the Dollar Tree parking lot when it struck a legally parked Subaru. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Subaru was estimated at $5,000.
• On Wednesday, a car driven by Autumn Elizabeth Newton, 18, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Third Avenue approaching Main Street as the light turned yellow. When Newton attempted to stop her car starting sliding and she collided with a car driven by James Robert Adams, 58, of Burlington, Wis., which was turning left. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Adams car was estimated at $7,500 while the Newton car received an estimated $4,500 in damage.

Arrests
• On Friday, Antonio Jaramillo Jr., 28, was arrested on a warrant.
• On Friday, Alonso Hernandez Rodriguez, 31, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with an expired driver’s license and operating while under the influence-first offense.
• On Thursday, Vann Griffith, 57, was arrested on a warrant charging him with sex offender registry violation and voluntary absence.
• On Thursday, Joshua Frederick , 33, was arrested on a warrant for stalking.
Accidents
• On Thursday, a Jeep Liberty ddriven by Fredrick Alan Wierschke, 59, of Newton, was northbound on Reed Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Wierschke Jeep was estimated at $8,000.
• On Wednesday, a semi driven by Terrill Alan Buss, 46, of Newton, was northbound on Sanford Avenue when it lost traction due to the ice and slid 180 degrees across the centerline and into the west ditch of the southbound lanes. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Buss semi was estimated at $1,000.
• On Wednesday, a car driven by Junior Belleh Solo, 32, of Des Moines, was southbound on Highway 330 in the fast lane when it lost traction on the icy roadway and entered the ditch in the median. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Solo car was estimated at $1,500.
• On Tuesday, a car driven by Alison Briann Davis, 19, of Clemons, was southbound on Eastman Avenue when the driver applied the brakes and lost control sending the car into a spin and into the northbound lane where it collided with a pickup driven by Ricky James Wilkening, 58, of State Center. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Wilkening pickup was estimated at $2,500 while the Davis car received an estimated $4,000 in damage.
• On Friday, a pickup driven by May June Reece, 71, of New Providence, was northbound on Marsh Avenue when the driver lost control on an icy patch of roadway resulting in the pickup crossing the center line and leaving the roadway to the left where it rolled over onto its top and came to rest in the west ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Reece pickup was estiamted at $8,000.
• On Tuesday, a vehicle driven by Maysam Gamini, 33, of Fairfield, was eastbound on Highway 30 when, due to sleet and ice on the roadway, the driver lost control and struck a cement bridge railing. The driver was able to clear the bridge and pull off onto the shoulder. Gamini was checked out by an EMS crew and found to have no injuries. Damage to the Gamini vehicle was estimated at $8,000.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a overheated motor at 209 N. 13th St., a rescue, EMS incident, other at 19 S. Center St., two smoke detector activations due to malfunction at 2315 Campbell Drive and 302 S. Second Ave. and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1703 Edgebrook Drive, 18 E. Main St., 303 S. Fourth Ave., 514 E. Olive St., 401 Sunset Lane, 1007 W. Nevada St., 404 N. 16 St. and 401 Innes Blvd.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a trash or rubbish fire at 1800 E. Church St, a public service assistance at 1021 S. Fifth Ave., a carbon monoxide incident at 8 N. 19th St. and 10 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 402 N. First St., 533 N. Third St., 1211 W. State St., 504 W. Church St., 907 S. Center St., 1500 Lincoln Tower Circle, 1008 Finkle Ave., 411 Summit St., 1702 S. Seventh Ave. and 1301 Summit St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a no incident found upon arrival at dispatch address at 10 S. Ninth St., a sprinkler activation-no fire-unintentional at 802 S. Center St., a smoke detector activation due to malfunction at 502 Plaza Heights Road, two dispatched/cancelled en routes to 2850 240th St. and 1500 Marsh Ave. and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 204 Olson Way and 304 Sharon Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an arcing, shorted electrical equipment at 1010 Highland Acres Road, a smoke detector activation due to malfunction at 1301 Summit St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 306 N. Fourth St., 1003 S. 12th St., 705 W. State St. and 503 Debra Drive.
Feb. 6
• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries at Zeller Avenue and Main Street Road, a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 1200 Lincolnway and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 514 E. Olive St., 810 S. Third Ave., 504 E. Linn St. and 1805 Summit St.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to Zeller Avenue and Highway 30, a alarm system sounded due to malfunction at 1700 S. Center St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 2801 Nelson Road, 105 W. Boone St., 2615 S. Center St. and 915 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a team, vapor, fog or dust thought to be smoke at 406 Plaza Heights Road and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 407 E. Main St., 1021 S. Fifth Ave., 1600 S. Center St., 401 Highland Acres Road, 507 W. High St. and 1509 S. Second Ave.
