• Matthew Sumpter made an initial appearance on an eluding charge, a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, a dominion or control of a firearm by a felon charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a no insurance charge, a failure to yield upon entering a through highway charge, a leaving the scene of an accident charge, a speeding charge and three counts of a failure to obey a stop sign charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 18. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

Sumpter also made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25, due within 30 days.

• Austin James Hill made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 2.

• A 14-year-old made an initial appearance on a violation of a minor restricted license charge and a failure to maintain control charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 2.

• Regina Miller made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Miller pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50, due within 30 days.

• Paige Eilene Brown made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no valid driver’s license charge, a no insurance charge and a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 30. The bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Elaine Emma Robins made an initial appearance on a leaving the scene of an accident charge. Robins pleaded guilty and the fine is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and #60 in court costs for a total of $215.25, due within 30 days.

• Abel Enriquez Jr. made an initial appearance on a no registration charge, a no insurance charge and a failure to stop in the assured, clear distance charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 9.

• Tilak Gautam made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief-fourth degree charge and a theft-fourth degree charge. The pubic defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sept. 18. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.
