• Damyniq Clowe Hagen Shoumaker made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge, a theft-third degree charge and a prostitution charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the theft and prostitution charges is set for 9:30 a.m. on July 10. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The probation revocation hearing is set for 11 a.m. on Aug. 7. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.
• Steven Edward Graves made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-second offense charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on July 19. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Nathaniel Lee Kajer made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a failure to yield upon a left turn charge and a no insurance charge. Dusty Clements is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is waived. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Jennika Lynn Schewe made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Schewe pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.
• Kevin Ray Madison Jr. made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, an operating without interlock device charge and an improper use of handicapped ID service charge. Joel Fenton is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on July 19.

• On Sunday, June 30, Haris Kudic, 31, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.
• On Saturday, June 29, Jared Warner, 26, was arrested on a warrant.
Accidents
• On Tuesday, June 25, a pickup driven by Larry John Holden, 64, of Marshalltown, was westbound on Main Street Road when it struck a deer that jumped onto the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Holden pickup was estimated at $4,000.
• On Thursday, June 20, a pickup driven by Bob Joe Chase, 59, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Chase pickup was estimated at $5,000.
• On Wednesday, June 19, a pickup driven by david W. Hessenius, 70, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that ran onto the road. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hessenius pickup was estimated at $6,000.
