• Ronnique Winter Henderson made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge. The arraignment hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash in the defendant’s name only.

• Kayti Leighann Shaffer made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge. Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 23. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• On Monday, Sept. 2, Ronnique Henderson, 22, was arrested on a warrant charging her with driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Sunday, Sept. 1, Mendiola Hernandez, 51, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, no insurance-no accident and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Sunday, Sept. 1, Matthew Sumpter, 38, was arrested for driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended and driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Sunday, Sept. 1, Daniel Sanchez Sanchez, 35, was arrested for speeding and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Sunday, Sept. 1, Candice Jones, 30, was arrested for assault on persons in certain occupations-bodily injury-mental illness, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts and trespass-first offense.

• On Sunday, Sept. 1, Jennifer Banks, 44, was arrested on a warrant charging her with driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended.

• On Saturday, Aug. 31, Julio Jimenez Rodriguez, 40, was arrested for speeding, driving on wrong side of roadway, faillure to yield upon left turn, no valid driver’s license, no insurance-accident, failure to carry registration card and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Friday, Aug. 30, Zachary Barnes, 22, was police cited for no insurance-accident, driving while license is denied or revoked and operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Friday, Aug. 30, Toby Dohn, 45, was arrested for failure to reduce speed on approach of emergency stationary vehicle-no injury, no insurance-no accident, operation without interlock device and driving while barred-habitual offender.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, Aug. 7, a car driven by Laenda Sue Jackson, 40, of Garwin, was westbound on Main Street Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the south ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Jackson car was estimated at $2,000.

• On Sunday, Aug. 4, an SUV driven by Keith Gail Weimer, 78, of Anamosa, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway from the median. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Weimer SUV was estimated at $7,000.
