• Rogelio Plascencia Mora made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-third or subsequent offense charge, a driving while barred charge, a driving while revoked charge, a driving under suspension charge and an operating without interlock device charge. Benjamin Harris-Medina is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, 2025. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Jeremy Geddis made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. Geddis pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $15 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $175.
• Ashley Bryan made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 15, 2025, in Magistrate Court.
• Alicia Geddis made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. Geddis pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $15 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $175.
• Blake Thomas Schomer made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Schomer pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• On Sunday, Dec. 22, Nixon Rodriguez Martinez, 20, was arrested for disorderly conduct-fighting/violent behavior, interference with official acts-bodily injury and assault on persons in certain occupations-causing bodily injury or mental illness.
• On Sunday, Dec. 22, Dawson Masterson, 23, was arrested for theft-fifth degree-pocket-picking.
• On Saturday, Dec. 21, Alan Gutierrez-Cantu, 25, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, registration violations, driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended, no insurance-accident and driving while barred-habitual offender.
• On Saturday, Dec. 21, Michael Witte, 57, was arrested for theft-third degree-enhanced.

• On Sunday, Dec. 22, Adrian Kincade, 47, was arrested on a warrant charging him with two counts of contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.
• On Friday, Dec. 20, Taven Varnum, 18, was arrested on a warrant charging him with criminal mischief-third degree, trespass-first offense and theft-fifth degree.
• On Friday, Dec. 20, Melissa Birch, 45, was arrested on a warrant charging her with two counts of contempt of court/violation of a no-contact order.
• On Friday, Dec. 20, Omar Carrillo, 40, was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of methamphetamine-first offense.
Accidents
• On Saturday, Dec. 21, a SUV driven by Cooper William Nailor, 20, of Indianola, was westbound on Highway 30 when he struck a deer that entered the roadway resulting in damage to the passenger front side. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Nailor SUV was estimated at $2,000.
• On Thursday, Dec. 19, a pickup driven by Kirsten Ellen Waltemeyer, 22, of State Center, was westbound on 230th Street when she struck a deer that entered the roadway near a curve. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Waltemeyer pickup was estimated at $1,600.
