• Martin Alexis Dominguez Vargas made an initial appearance on an operating while under the influence-first offense charge, a speeding charge, an open container charge, a no insurance charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 12. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.

• Genaro Gonzalez made an initial appearance on a violation of probation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is set for 11 a.m. on Jan. 24, 2025. Gonzalez is being held without bond.

• Cindy Velazquez Avila made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in Magistrate Court.

• Jose Antonio Acosta Ruiz made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Acosta Ruiz pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the driving under suspension charge is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50. The fine on the driver’s license charge is $260 with a $39 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $354.

• Jan Marie Lingard made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge and a driving under suspension charge. Lingard pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the no insurance is $325 with a $48.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $428.75. The fine on the driving under suspension is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.

• Niurka Natacha Valdez Bencosme made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 8, 2025, in Magistrate Court.

• Joni Rae Chamberlin made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Leah Patton is appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in Magistrate Court.

• Angel Mauricio Fernandez Ibarra made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Fernandez Ibarra pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine for both charges is $250 each with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50 on each charge.

• Diego Nathanel Murillo made an initial appearance on two counts of a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, an operating without an interlock device charge, a failure to give continuous turn signal charge and a dark windows/windshield charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 20. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
