• Corey Allen Dejoode made an initial appearance on a burglary-second degree charge, a criminal mischief-second degree charge, a going armed with intent charge, an assault with a dangerous weapon charge, an open container charge, a driving under suspension charge, a leaving the scene of an accident-property damage only charge, a no insurance-accident charge and three counts of a driving while barred charge. Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 24. Bond is set at $35,000 cash. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Kenneth Charles Filbrandt made an initial appearance on a voluntary absence from custody charge. Mark Torche is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 24. Filbrandt is being held without bond.

• Michael Allen Lewis made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 24. Lewis is being held without bond.

• Emilio Antonio Hernandez made an initial appearance on an unlawful passing of a school bus charge. Hernandez pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Eduard Steven Saavedra Gomez made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 26 in Magistrate Court.

• Talyn Seymour made an initial appearance on an assault on persons in certain occupations charge. Mark Torche is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 6.

• Jesse Ceniceros made an initial appearance on a reckless driving charge and a failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 19 in Magistrate Court.

Arrests

• On Thursday, Feb. 13, Corey Dejoode, 34, was arrested on a warrant charging him with three counts of driving while barred, open container, driving while license is denied, canceled, revoked or suspended, going armed with intent, assault with a dangerous weapon, burglary-second degree-weapon or explosive, no insurance-accident, criminal mischief-second degree and leaving the scene of an accident-vehicle damage only.

• On Thursday, Feb. 13, Marco Venegas, 45, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.

Accidents

• On Wednesday, Feb. 12, a pickup driven by Adelheid Christine Ernst, 75, of Marshalltown, was southbound on Sanford Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ernst pickup was estimated at $1,500.
