Police call leads to 11 alcohol-related arrests, citations
An investigation by the Marshalltown Police Department into a loud party led to the arrest of 11 people for alcohol violations at a local motel late last week.
On Nov. 27, at 4 a.m., police were called to the Economy Inn in the 3100 block of of South Center St. Upon arrival to room 18, police discovered 12 occupants, all under the age of 21. Several containers of alcohol were discovered in the room. Upon completion of the investigation, six juveniles were charged with possession of alcohol under age of 21 and released to their parent or guardian. One juvenile was released to a family member with no charges. Additionally, four adults were charged with possession of alcohol under age 21 and released. They included: Teryn Buckley, 20; Fernando Cole, 18; Teresa Garcia, 18; and Cameron Patton, 18. Omar Rico Alba, 18, was arrested and charged with social host ordinance violation. All charges are classified as simple misdemeanors, according to Capt. Brian Batterson of the MPD.
