One of several buildings in the 100 block of West Main Street extensively damaged by the July 2018 tornado was demolished earlier this week by Corona Construction of Marshalltown.

Here, a backhoe rented by the company works on demolishing the building’s south side. The crew made short work of the structure and it was soon reduced to a pile of rubble. Building owners on the street have told the Times-Republican they expect others on the block to be demolished in the near future.
