The Marshall County Veterans Affairs office will not relocate to the basement of Great Western Bank. 

Instead, residents should contact the Marshall County Veterans Affairs office at the Central Iowa Community Services number which is 641-754-6390, said Marshall County Auditor and Recorder Nan Benson. 

“We are going to have the veterans affairs staff work from home for their safety,” Benson said. “That decision was changed after Tuesday’s Board of Supervisor’s meeting.” 

Before the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, county veterans could stop at the Marshall County Veterans Affairs office in Heinz Hall at the Iowa Veterans Home. 

However, on Saturday, IVH was ordered by federal government authorities to prohibit non-residents and staff from being on campus in order to protect its estimated 500 residents and 900 staff from possible contamination.
