MARSHALLTOWN President/CEO and Children’s Author Joe Carter, pictured, held a book signing and launch event for his fourth book, “Tile, Vinyl, and Carpet — You’re Beautiful the Way You Are,” at the Thompson True Value store in Marshalltown on Monday night. The setting was fitting as the book itself chronicles the rebuilding of the store after it was struck by an EF-3 tornado on July 19, 2018. Carter’s daughter Hanna illustrated the book, as she has for each of her father’s previous three works.
