Marshall County endures major flooding Tuesday
It was an eventful day in Marshall County and the surrounding area as heavy rains caused flooding and road closures, especially in the southern half of the county and nearby Montour in southwestern Tama County. After the morning rains, a major storm system moved through the state late Tuesday afternoon, and the tornado sirens went off in Marshalltown at about 5:25 p.m. after a tornado warning was issued. Despite an apparent tornado along Highway 30 in Nevada, there were none reported in Marshall County, but Marshall and Tama counties were included in a disaster declaration issued by Gov. Kim Reynolds on Tuesday evening.
