RHODES — Kehgun Borton, 17, of Rhodes, has been identified as the victim of a deadly crash that occurred near the intersection of 320th Street and Canfield Avenue southwest of Rhodes on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a minimal crash report from the Iowa State Patrol, Borton, who was operating an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV), was traveling west on 320th Street while a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Jeremy Gukert, also of Rhodes, was heading east on the same road. The report indicates that Borton crossed the center line and struck Gukert’s vehicle.

Borton was transported to the UnityPoint Hospital in Marshalltown, where he was pronounced dead, and Gukert was not injured.
