The South Tama County community came together for an emotional homecoming football game on Friday night as Trojan Country mourned the unexpected loss of sophomore Sydney Culbertson, who died of a sudden illness last Tuesday. The STC Marching Band, of which Culbertson was a member, paid special tribute to her during its performance, and a candlelight vigil was held on the field after the game to honor her memory. A Celebration of Life for Culbertson was scheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday in the STC High School gym, and classes have been canceled for the day.
