Alerus Bank staff excited about merger
Manager: ‘More resources available’
Amy Feisel and her staff at Alerus – formerly Home Federal – have been in the banking business many years and are thrilled with the opportunity to have more resources as a result of a recent merger with Alerus Financial Corp. (AFC) of Grand Forks, N.D.
Feisel, branch manager and Marshalltown resident, told the Times-Republican existing customers have noticed a seamless transition since the merger was completed in October. Importantly – they continue to receive the prompt, professional and courteous service staff are known for. New customers for personal, organization and business banking are welcome.
Feisel said the bank will continue to offer lobby and drive-up ATM, checking accounts, health savings accounts, savings accounts, money market, certificates of deposit and online banking.
It will continue to offer commercial loan options, commercial lines of credit and term loans, small business and commercial real estate loans.
Feisel said she expects more financial services – including retirement and wealth management among others – will be available to customers in the immediate future.
“We will continue to donate funds to worthy community projects in the Marshalltown area, and I expect our efforts will increase,” Feisel said. “Over the years, our staff has volunteered for a number of esteemed area organizations such as the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce and Historical Society of Marshall County.”
The bank opened in Marshalltown in 1997 at 303 W. Main St.
“Client accounts will transition to Alerus Dec. 6-8,” said Kris Bevill, public relations manager of Alerus. “Beginning Dec. 9, Home Federal will operate as part of Alerus and all Alerus products and services will be available to former Home Federal clients.”
Alerus provided a link to the transition website for Home Federal clients: https://www.alerus.com/home/justcallhome/. This site provides a timeline of transition dates, as well as frequently asked questions, and digital versions of the personal client and business brochures which were mailed to clients. They provide additional information about Alerus products and services and enhancements/changes compared to existing Home Federal products and services, said Bevill.
AFC has $3.9-billion in banking assets, $4-billion in wealth management assets under administration/management and $36.7-billion in retirement and benefit assets under administration/management according to company promotional material.
The bank operates full-service banking offices in Grand Forks and Fargo, N.D., the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. area and Phoenix, Ariz. Retirement and benefit services offices are in Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and North Dakota, and offers retirement plans in all 50 states.
