Pro wrestler ODB makes an appearance at The Flying Elbow

The Flying Elbow isn’t just a popular Marshalltown restaurant with a pro wrestling theme — as of last weekend, it’s also an eatery that’s played host to a well-known pro wrestler with over 20 years of experience in the business.

Jessica Kresa, a Twin Cities native known by her stage name ODB (One Dirty B****, not to be confused with the late rapper who used the same initials), stopped by the Elbow on Saturday night for a meet and greet and signed copies of her book, simply titled “Jessie Kresa is ODB: One Dirty B****!”

Because of her background running a food truck in Minnesota along with her husband, Kresa said she became aware of The Flying Elbow through Facebook a few years ago and connected with Owner Garrett Goodman about hosting an event while the couple was on their way to Tennessee.

“We both got it, and it was just like ‘Alright, let’s do it,'” Kresa said.

Kresa/ODB is also excited to announce that she’ll be getting back into the ring for “one more run.” She doesn’t like to use the term retired, but she did admit that with her food truck businesses taking off, wrestling was put on the backburner at least temporarily.

“I’ve got new wrestling moves. I’ve got new gear, so I will be making an appearance in Knoxville, Tenn. on Nov. 17, and then I’ll be at Wrestlecade in Winston-Salem,” she said. “2025 is gonna be one hell of a comeback.”

Of course, Goodman had to come up with a one-day special signature sandwich for ODB, and as usual, he delivered: the O-D-BAM! featured cherry wood smoked pork loin, bacon, Swiss, American and Havarti cheeses, bourbon sauce, caramelized onion and jalapenos on jalapeno cornbread toast with the Big Al side of bourbon bacon and jalapeno mac and cheese. Kresa also had the chance to try the Frisco burger and gave it two thumbs up.

And with the success of the Saturday night event, Goodman is hopeful for more collaborative opportunities with the stars of the sport down the road.

“You know from talking to me over the years (that) I’m always looking for fun stuff to do, different stuff to do, and yeah, I’d love to do more things in the future, especially if we expand the area and have more opportunities to do more events,” he said. “It’s kind of hard for us to do them sometimes just because it’s such a tight space, but I would love to be more involved with pro wrestlers and just getting involved with the local wrestling scene. It’s such a great community with a welcoming environment and people.”

Kresa, who played high school and college hockey in Minnesota, made her pro wrestling debut in 2001 and has spent much of her career affiliated with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) wrestling.
