Man charged with felony sexual abuse

A rural Marshalltown man was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony sexual abuse on Friday over allegations that he forced himself onto a female victim.

Nicholas Ray Sayer, 29, was charged with third degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony. According to a police report, he laid in a bed with the alleged victim and put his hand down her pants before performing a sex act with his finger against the victim’s will.

According to court documents, Sayer’s bond was set at $10,000 cash only, and as of Sunday evening, he was no longer listed as an inmate in the Marshall County Jail. A preliminary hearing has been set for Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m.
