TOLEDO — On Wednesday, the Toledo Police Department released a statement about a trailer that was stolen from Chyma’s Machine and Welding on March 17. After an investigation was launched and a suspect was identified, a related search warrant was conducted in Hardin County on Tuesday, and the trailer was recovered and returned to the owner.

Tanner Joe Vinton, 40, of Eldora was arrested and charged with second degree theft, a Class C felony, and trespass first offense, a simple misdemeanor.

The Toledo Police Department was assisted by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshalltown Police Department, the Eldora Police Department and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office in its investigation.

“We would like to extend our gratitude to the local businesses and community members in Tama, Marshall, and Hardin counties that provided valuable information,” the official statement read.
