Marshall County pasture walk set for March 12

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Marshall County is hosting a pasture walk near Gilman at 1 p.m. on March 12. Detailed instructions to the pasture will be provided when preregistering. This event is for anyone interested in learning more about pasture management and cattle grazing.

A duo of ISU extension specialists will talk about various aspects of pasture management. Crops specialist Meaghan Anderson will discuss agronomic aspects of pasture management such as soil fertility, weed management and considerations for interseeding. Beef specialist Chris Clark will discuss the importance of grazing management, rotational grazing, avoiding overgrazing and potentially some animal health topics.

The program will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but preregistration by March 10 is requested to help with planning.
