CONRAD — UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown has announced it will build a new primary care clinic in Conrad.
The project will be erected on the east end of town at 205 N. Hartwig St., across the street from Steckelberg Vet Clinic. The building is expected to be completed before the end of 2025 and serve as the new home for the UnityPoint Health Family Medicine – Conrad clinic.
Construction is expected to begin this spring.
“The existing clinic welcomes about 12,000 patient visits each year, and the team has been amazing at delivering an exceptional standard of care,” said Carolyn Barko, vice president of Operations for UnityPoint Clinic – Waterloo. “Now, that team will have a beautiful and efficient clinic that will certainly enhance the patient experience for years to come.”
The new clinic will be approximately 5,500 square feet and be a much more efficient facility. It will offer enhanced patient safety and comfort, along with a lab, X-ray equipment and telehealth capacity for access to specialty providers.
“We’re excited to get started, and I’m especially eager to see how the community will be involved,” says Becky Dirks, development director at UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown. “I believe this clinic will be a source of pride for Conrad, and I look forward to seeing how the community helps bring this dream to fruition.”
