Michael Dickey was born on January 24, 1949, in Marshalltown to Robert “Smoke” and Lois Ewaldt Dickey. Mike graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1967. On February 16, 1973, Mike was united in marriage to Sharon Heldt in Green Mountain and had one son Robert. They divorced in October of 1998. Mike had worked for Fisher Control from 1967 and retired in 2004. He was a member of local UAW 893 in Marshalltown. Mike’s favorite thing to do was coaching little league baseball and watching his son Robert in his sports activities. He also enjoyed muskie fishing, coon hunting, was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, coin collecting, going to coffee in LeGrand with his friends, snowmobiling, drag racing his Z28 Camaro in Cedar Falls, watching NASCAR and was a volunteer firefighter for Green Mountain.

Mike is survived by his grandchildren: Alex and Brandt. Sister: Debbie (Gene) Hartwig, of Marshalltown. Daughter in law: Kathrine Dickey, of State Center. Sister in law: Jan Dickey. Niece: Amy Watson, of Green Mountain. Nephew: Dan Hartwig, of Palo Alto, California and three aunts and one uncle and his black lab, Angel.

Mike is preceded in death by his son Robert “Rob” Dickey; parents Smoke and Lois; brother Jerry Dickey and his grandparents.
