Bonnie Urhammer, 78, of Green Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Glenwood Place where she resided.
Funeral services for Bonnie will be held on Friday, October 9 at 10:30 A.M. at Green Mountain United Church of Christ, followed by burial at Green Mountain Cemetery. A visitation will take place the night prior, Thursday, October 8 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The family of Bonnie kindly asks that all attendees must wear a mask and social distancing guidelines are followed. Memorials may be directed to Green Mountain United Church of Christ or Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS). Born Bonnie Kay Katzer on August 29, 1942, at their home in Conrad, she was the daughter of George and Stella (Conrad) Katzer. Several years later they moved to Garwin, where she graduated high school. It was here at age 13 that she met her sweetheart, Harold Dean Urhammer. They were married on June 11, 1960, at Garwin Christian Church. Together they raised three children on their farm. Bonnie was a hardworking farm wife and excellent homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking and gardening. Bonnie was an active member of Green Mountain United Church of Christ, including the Women’s Fellowship group. She also volunteered at the school and CAPS. Bonnie adored her family and especially loved babies.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, Harold Urhammer; two daughters: Lori (Pat) McCarville and Linda (Bill) Havelka; five grandchildren: Matthew (Alyssa) Urhammer, Brent Havelka, Jacob McCarville, Emily (Dillon) Keppler and Tyler McCarville; one great grandchild on the way; sister Betty Kollasch; sisters-in-law Joann Katzer, Heidi Katzer and Ann Katzer and numerous other relatives.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Douglas Dean Urhammer; and siblings Larry Katzer, Ronnie Katzer, Dorothy Brindle and Vernon Katzer.
