A private graveside service will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice or Laurel United Methodist Church. Frances “Fran” was born February 23, 1924, in the Laurel area, Iowa to George and Emma Ehler Paul. She grew up enjoying farm life with her brothers, Don and Virgil and her sister, Eva. Fran enjoyed school and was a competitive sports enthusiast, especially playing her high school basketball. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1942.

She married Orville “Ole” Anderson in 1943. Their first son, David was born just after Ole left for World War II. Ole returned when David was about eighteen months old. Their second son, Paul “Skip” was born later.

Fran and Ole lived in northern Jasper County and farmed. They moved north of Marshalltown and then later moved back to the Laurel area.

Fran attended the Laurel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sports activities and fishing trips with family and friends to Minnesota and Canada. Her last four years she spent at Glenwood Assisted Living in Marshalltown.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Paul “Skip” (Colene) Anderson; grandchildren: John (Kiley), Chad (Kristine), Ryan (Stephanie) and Whitney (Jerry) and several great grandchildren.

In death, Frances will unite with her husband, Ole; her son, David; her parents, her brothers: Don and Virgil and her sister, Eva.
