Mary McCord, 59

Mary McCord, 59, of Marshalltown, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at the Iowa River Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 22nd at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with burial following at the Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Toledo. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be directed to her family for a later designation. Born on December 10, 1961 in Marshalltown, Mary was the daughter of Melvin and Sharon (Yilek) Crawford. She grew up in the Tama-Toledo area and attended South Tama Community Schools. In 1978, she was united in marriage to Charles “Tad” McCord. The couple made their home in Toledo and Mary worked as a waitress at King Tower Cafe in Tama for many years. After Tad and Mary divorced in 1991, she moved to Marshalltown where she worked as waitress at Perkins restaurant. Mary was a member of Journey Church. She will be remembered as a fun-loving and outgoing person who loved life and her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, loud music and sitting in the sun.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Melynda McCord, Jacque McCord and Marcy (Jim) Perlowski and her two grandsons: Joshua and Jeremiah Barber.
In eternal life, Mary has been reunited with her parents; her children’s father, Tad McCord; her brother, Ronald Crawford; and her grandson, Jonathan Barber.
