Curtis “Curt” Smith, 76, of Conrad, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away December 15, 2021, at Southridge Specialty Care. Curt’s funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 18th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with burial following at Rose Hill Memorial Garden. The public is also invited to his visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Curt’s family for a later designation. Born on November 15, 1945, in Montour, IA, Curt was the son of Byrl and Thelma (Hardin) Smith. He grew up in Montour and graduated from high school. Curt was married, divorced and later married Donna Eastman. The couple made their home in Marshalltown and Curt was employed at Dunham Bush where he was line worker building boiler parts and their shipping department for thirty-six years before retiring. He was a past member of the United Auto Workers Union and he attended the Faith Assembly of God Church. In his free time, Curt enjoyed leather working, painting, watching the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs baseball teams and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Survivors include: his children: Curt, Derek, Chris and Richie (Amy) Smith and Brent (Daleen) Michel and Dawn Michel; his grandchildren: Cody (Tara) Brink, Tasia (Wheeler) Hulin and Lizzy Tranmer; his great grandchildren: Whylee Hulin, Triscety Hulin and Carolina Tranmer; and his siblings: Illeana Manship, Nettie Dibben and Leroy Smith.
In eternal life, Curt joins his parents and wife, Donna.
