Born January 28, 2011, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Moises and Megan Juarez. She loved living in Gilman and was extremely close with her older siblings, neighbors and classmates. She was a fifth grader in Mrs. Roseland’s class at East Marshall Middle School, forever a part of the class of 2029. Sophia had a zest for life, an uncanny ability to warm the hearts of everyone she knew. She had a great personality: she loved to tease and to make people laugh. She was everything from a tomboy playing hard outside to a girly-girl, who loved getting her nails done. She loved movies, listening to music, messaging her friends online and more than anything else, spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Moises and Megan; her siblings: Keyshawn Estberg and Emily and Alex Juarez- Bautista; grandparents Gary and Tracy Catron, of Gilman, and grandma Maria Ofelia Juarez-Bautista, of Mexico; her aunts and uncles: Lindsay (Emily) Catron-Bellevue, of Nolan, NE, Ryan (Tiffany) Catron, of Mingo, IA, Carmen Juarez-Bausta, of CA, Candelaria Juarez-Bautista, Francisco (Juana Candelario-Dominguez) Juarez-Bautista, Antonio (Claudia Reynosa-Lucas) Juarez-Bautista, Conception (Augustin Candelario-Domingquez) Juarez-Bautista, Ofelia (Vicente Arturo Delores) Juarez-Bautista and Jose Juan Juarez-Bautista, all of Mexico; cousins: Jaylan and Kinder; great-grandpa John (Maggie) Catron, of Marshalltown; great-uncle John Catron and his family, Madeline & Shelby, of Wichita Falls, TX; her dogs: Charming, Snowball and Princess and her cat, Queeny Reba. She is also survived by her special friends, Kendra “Wonder Woman” and Jim Happe, and Donavan, Alainey and Bryton, of Laurel, IA, who have become family; her neighborhood friends that have become her extended family; her 5th grade classmates at East Marshall Middle School and all of you who have become such an important part of Miss Sophia’s Village.
