Phyllis “Arlene” Trautman, 92, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown, surrounded by her family. Cremation rites have been accorded and Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.andersonfhs.com.
Arlene was born on February 15, 1931, in rural Ackley, Iowa, to Peter and Clara (Hoppe) Kramer. Arlene attended and graduated from Dumont High School. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Ewald Trautman. Arlene and Ewald were united in marriage on October 7, 1950, in Hampton, Iowa. Arlene was a homemaker and after her children started school, she worked as a bookkeeper for Eggleston Electric. In her free time, she loved quilting and gardening and especially being a grandmother.
Phyllis will be dearly missed by her children: David (Amie) Trautman and Dianne Trautman; son-in-law, Jason Kern; grandson, Samuel (Emily) Trautman; and very-soon-to-be great granddaughter, Lily Arlene Trautman.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Jennifer Kern.
In accordance with Arlene’s wishes, no services will be held.
