Gary Mugge was born May 20, 1945 in Cherokee, Iowa to Delbert and Marjorie Mugge. Gary graduated from BCL High School in 1964 then attended the State College of Iowa in Cedar Falls before he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.

On November 4, 1967, Gary married Linda Ann Lynch and they had two daughters. Gary and Linda enjoyed working on the farm, raising Angus cattle, taking vacations to Lake Okoboji and working as a lay minister. Gary stayed on the family farm until 2023 when he moved to Prairie Hills in Independence to be closer to family. Gary enjoyed spending time with family, watching football, taking walks to the pond, and teasing the staff.

Survived by: Daughters Stacy Mugge of Loveland, CO, Shelley (Randy) Schafer of Independence, IA, brother Steve Mugge of Gladbrook, IA, Sisters-in-Law Kathy Elliot of Boone, IA and Connie (Keith) Schleisman of Cuba City, WI; and nieces and nephews.

Preceded in Death by his wife Linda Mugge, parents Delbert and Marjorie Mugge, In-Laws Richard and Betty Lynch, and Sister-in-Law Bonnie Mugge.

A private family service and spreading of ashes will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to The Alzheimer's Association or Cedar Valley Hospice.
