Robert “Bob” Coulter
Robert “Bob” Coulter, 89, of Conrad, IA passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Beacon Christian Church of Conrad. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Beacon Christian Church of Conrad. Interment will follow services at Conrad Cemetery in Conrad. Robert was born October 4, 1935 to Roland and Sylvia (Critser) Coulter in Burlington, IA. He graduated from Conrad High School in 1953. His mother made him wait until he turned 19 and then he quickly married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Wiseman on October 9, 1954. They were married for 57 years until her passing in 2012.
There was only one occupation that was of interest to him and that was farming. One of the honors he received during his career was to be named Marshall County Master Pork Producer. When he wasn’t home on the farm you could find him volunteering on various boards or clubs. These included the Jaycees, Lions, 4-H leader, Comet Cross Country Team, Conrad Cemetery, Conrad Library, Grundy County REC and the co-op board.
In his later years he spent time adding to his MANY collections or meeting and making friends around the puzzle table at the library.
Robert will be missed by his daughter, Lee Ann (Vic) Dielschneider of Shellsburg and son, Les (Dee) Coulter of Beaman.
He will also be missed by his 5 grandsons and 4 great grandchildren: Curt (Sarah) Dielschneider; Brad (Meghan) Dielschneider and son Theodore, with another on the way; Spencer (Heather) Coulter and children Eli and Natalie; Bryce (Stephanie) Coulter and daughter Eleanor; Derek (Shelby) Coulter.
