Patricia was the daughter of Orla and Esther Groves and sister of Donald “Don” Groves and Robert “Bob” Groves. She was raised in the Tama and Toledo communities except for a brief time in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Pat was a graduate of the Toledo High School Class of 1949. After high school, she went to Marshalltown and shared an apartment with two friends and went to work for Prudential Insurance for seven years. Through mutual friends, she met Don Kenner in July 1950, and they were united in marriage in May of 1953. A daughter, Diane, was born on July 1956 but was only with them for two and a half years when she died of cancer. A second daughter, Karol, was born in November of 1959. Don Kenner died unexpectedly in June of 1963. Pat was able to return to work for Prudential Insurance in 1965 and worked another seven years.

In 1972, Pat married Arnold Eggers. They combined their families, Pat’s daughter, Karol, and Arnold’s sons, Rick and Todd. Pat and Karol moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Pat and Arnold were members of the Elks and volunteered for many years at the VA Hospital in Phoenix. Pat and Arnold were married for 38 years until Arnold passed away in 2010.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Karol and stepson, Todd Eggers, cousins, nephews and nieces. In death, she joined her daughter, Diane Kenner; husbands- Don Kenner and Arnold Eggers: her parents, Orla and Esther Groves, her brothers- Don Groves and Bob Groves and stepson, Rick Eggers.
